Fujairah's Sheikh Hamad orders for construction of 44km internal roads

HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah has called for the construction of 44km of internal roads that covers 11 areas within the emirate.

The Fujairah Ruler ordered for the construction of the road network project that will cover areas including Al Faseel, Rayamah, Al Jarouf, Al Aqah, Yaala, Al Raheb, Zaher Al Safwa, Al Mutariqa, Rashidiya, Zakat, and Al Riddah, during the third meeting of the Fujairah Development Committee, which he also chairs.

According to the UAE’s state-held news agency, Wam, the meeting, which covered discussions on local development and service plans, was attended by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and other officials.

As part of the meeting Sheikh Hamad detailed major future development projects that will be implemented in the emirate. He said that the highest international quality standards should be adopted for the projects in accordance with the UAE’s National Agenda, the UAE Vision 2021, and the Fujairah Plan 2040.

Sheikh Hamad also briefed concerned authorities to support and complete local projects at the earliest.

Currently, various road and infrastructure projects are at the planning and construction stages in Fujairah as the emirate seeks to diversify its economy.

In October 2019, the Fujairah Ruler had ordered for the construction of 64km of internal roads within Dibba, Al Tawabeen, Dhedna, Wadi Al Sadr, Al Henya, Al Surum, Massafi, Awahla, Wadi Mai, Bulaidah, and Al Bathnah areas.
