Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick-start renovations on a Hindu temple in Manama during his state visit to Bahrain this month.
In his first visit to Bahrain as prime minister, Modi will launch the renovation of the Shreenathji temple in Manama during his trip on 24-25 August.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Sunday that Modi will meet with HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa of Bahrain.
The pair will discuss a host of bilateral issues ranging from trade and business to security.
Relations between Bahrain and India have been improving for several years and, with more than 3,000 Indian-owned joint ventures in Bahrain, both governments are keen to enhance this relationship.
Narendra Modi’s meeting with HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will follow a state visit to the UAE on 23-24 August.
He will meet HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.
As the UAE is India's third-largest trading partner, bilateral ties, as well as regional and international matters of state, are set to be discussed.
