Marriott International could open more than 30 luxury hotels in 2020, with the US giant boasting upwards of 200 projects in the Middle East.
The hospitality operator said it hoped to open high-end hotels in Iceland, Montenegro and the Philippines, among others, next year.
“Our plan to open more than 30 luxury properties in 2020 – an average of about three exciting new hotels per month – speaks to the remarkable momentum that brands such as St. Regis, The Ritz-Carlton and Edition have with affluent travellers, our Marriott Bonvoy members and hotel developers around the world,” said Marriott International’s global chief development officer, Tony Capuano, according to Hotelier Middle East.
Marriott International's director of interior design for the Middle East and Africa, Maliha Nishat, will be involved in the design of the company's new luxury hotels.
Nishat recently featured on Commercial Interior Design's Power 50 List 2019, which ranks the most influential interior design leaders in the Middle East.
