Dubai-based Muse Interior Design is close to finishing a dark and edgy barbershop in Jaddaf, Dubai, that the firm’s boss has described as one of his “favourite” projects.
The male hair salon in Jaddaf is nearing completion with civil and MEP works already wrapped up. Delivery of loose furniture and the installation of mirrors and décor is set to begin in the second half of June.
Michael Dudnyk, part of the brains behind the interiors firm, alongside wife Stanislava Rudas-Dudnyk, told Commercial Interior Design the edgy barbershop was “one of my favourite projects”.
Renderings show a space that cuts an industrial style with elements of woodwork, hanging lights, leather sofas and armchairs, black and grey walls, and exposed piping.
One change that has recently been pushed through by the client is the replacement of a full-size motorcycle raised on a platform in the waiting area with a muscle-pumping chest press machine. It's a nod to the strong and machiso aesthetic of the salon.
The projects is an addition to Muse Interior Design's portfolio, which includes design projects in City Walk and Nikki Beach, as well as private residential villas in Palm Jumeirah, Damac Hills, and Emirates Hills.
The boutique team has already completed two projects this year: Persona Dubai Image Lab, a beauty salon located in Dubai Marina, and Cloud Eleven Beauty Salon in Umm Suqeim.
“Each project was interesting and has an exciting story,” Dudnyk said in comments about the two beauty salons and the barbershop. “They are all very different and each project has its own character,” he added.
