Turkish architect Murat Soygenis, founding partner at Istanbul-based S+Architecture has been elevated to the College of Fellows of The American Institute of Architects, for achieving a standard of excellence in the architecture profession.
Soygenis is also a professor of Architecture at the School of Architecture and Design at Bahcesehir University. He received his architectural education in Istanbul, Turkey (B.Arch., ITU) and in Buffalo New York, USA (M.Arch., University at Buffalo). He has served as the Dean of School of Architecture (YTU) and received awards for his contributions to profession. He is also a member of the Chamber of Architects in Istanbul (UIA), and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Only two other architects have receieved this distinction this year, including Greg Yager and Iraqi architect Raya Ani, founder of architecture practice RAW-NYC Architects.
Turkish architect Emre Arolat, founder of Emre Arolat Architecture (EAA), was elevated to 2019 Honorary Fellow.
