David Beckham is working with a Chinese developer’s interior design team to bring British style to the highest suites of the Londoner Macao hotel.
Resort builder China Sands is redesigning Sands Cotai Central Cotai Strip in Macao – and has brought the celebrity on in what will be Beckham’s first interior design venture.
He has already been a global ambassador for Sands Resorts Macao, the developer said.
Londoner Macao’s interiors will blend cosmopolitan luxury with classic British style. Features will include a glass atrium centrepiece – a homage to London’s Crystal Palace exhibition hall, built in the 1850s.
The hotel will also feature authentic recreations of classic British landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament, and will recreate famous tourist attraction like the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
In a press statement, David Beckham said he was excited about his first interior design project.
“London is an incredible city and one that I am proud to call my home. To be able to work so closely with the Sands team to bring the elements of London that I love to the city of Macao is a wonderful opportunity.
“Interior design is a real passion for me so to be involved in the design process and help shape this project is another important step in our long-standing partnership with Sands Resorts Macao. I can't wait to welcome everyone to come and experience what we are creating here – a little bit of London in Macao.”
