IKEA UAE has used its furniture to recreate iconic living rooms from three of the world’s most-loved television shows to prove its has something for everyone.

Living rooms from The Simpsons, Friends, and Netflix’s Stranger Things have been recreated as part of IKEA’s ‘Real Life Series’ campaign.

The marketing strategy — and let's not forget this is what it is — aims to show people that the Scandinavian chain’s huge portfolio of furniture and homeware products are suitable for everyone.

It doesn't matter if you're a minamalist, or learn more towards contempoary décor or a feng shui aesthetic.

Take the bohemian-style lounge from Stranger Things, with its fairy lights, brick-a-brick furniture, and cluttered bookshelf for example. It is markedly different to the lounge from Friends, with its purple walls and flatwoven rug.

The minimalist room from The Simpsons couldn’t be more different either, with a single LED floor lamp and a circular rug filling out what is otherwise a rather empty space.

A research team was selected by IKEA to recreate each room. The catch was that the team could only use IKEA furniture. Thousands of items were collected from IKEA’s catalogues and website to find the right pieces over a two-month period.

The selected pieces were sent to a 3D studio where they were integrated with the rooms from the popular television shows.
