UAE students looking for an in-depth understanding of how design, retail and branding work in luxury management can now take a new master’s degree at the University of Wollongong in this area.
The university has launched a course in luxury management, created in partnership with Italian business school Politecnico di Milano.
Launching in January 2020, the advisory committee for the Global Executive Master in Luxury Management includes top UAE brands such as Chalhoub Group, Daimler Middle East and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
Students will get to travel to luxury shopping and fashion capitals like Milan, Geneva and Paris to take part in factory tours, visit the headquarters of luxury brands and experience some of the luxury world’s most prominent trade fairs.
They will also study strategy, contract negotiation, luxury customer experience design, marketing, supply chain management, distribution and more.
Professor Mohammed Salem, University of Wollongong president, said the course will support Dubai’s position as “a centre of tourism and a major luxury shopping destination” by developing luxury brand managers.
“The launch of this degree, in partnership with the prestigious Politecnico di Milano, is a testament to our ongoing commitment to offering a globalised higher education curricula that enables our graduates to explore lucrative career options upon completion.”
The University of Wollongong comes from Australia and a new campus is being built in Dubai. Earlier this year, ISG won a significant fit-out contract for the entire campus.
