Wilson Associates has combined eclectic British style with sporting country pursuits to design family-friendly gastropub The Duck Hook at Dubai Hills Golf Club.
The hospitality-focused interior design studio wanted to design an eccentric version of a classic British pub tucked away in the countryside, bringing humour and sophistication to one of Dubai's most exclusive areas.
English Tweed, Victorian-style paintings of human-duck hybrids and dark colours bring the British feel of the venue to the fore. Wilson Associates commissioned London-based artist Ellie Popp to create the artworks.
The colour scheme across the restaurant draws inspiration from the blues, greens and yellows of ducks and mallards.
The pub is located in the heart of the high-end Dubai Hills estate development, with stunning views of the Dubai skyline and lush golf course.
Sustainability was a major part of the design ethos for the food and beverage project. No single-use plastic is used in front-of-house operations and the aim is to be completely single-use plastic free by Expo 2020 Dubai.
This is part of Wilson Assoiciates wider strategy to design creative projects that are original, exciting, environmentally and socially responsible.
