Sponsors and judges for the ongoing 3D Printed Luminaire Design Competition judges and sponsors were treated to a tour of ImmensaLabs Technology.

Huda Lighting, in partnership with Immensa Additive Manufacturing, has launched the competition to introduce 3D printing technology to the lighting and interior design industries.

Designers from the MENA region are challenged to design a bespoke light fitting for residential and commercial use, which will be 3D printed by Immensa.

Judges Sumaya Dabbagh from Dabbagh Architects, Kristina Zanic from Kristina Zanic Consultants, David McNeil from DPA Lighting, Khalifa AlQama from Dubai Future Foundation and Hercu Viljoen from ALE looked over shortlisted entries for the competition and looked around the factory.

The tour began with an insightful presentation about 3D printing process and moved on to a tour around the lab, where they saw a wide range of 3D printed items as well as a variety of machines.
