Database launched for quarantined design professionals

An international network for architects, designers and engineers has launched an initiative to provide work for those affected by COVID-19.

Known as RMJM Jiayou, the collaborative platform will allow them to be involved in international projects while observing quarantine guidelines during the global pandemic.

Named after the encouraging chants of the quarantined residents of Wuhan in China as they shouted from windows and balconies to each other, the online portal will offer opportunities to ensure members of the design industry can keep working during the international crisis.

Users will receive access to a tender database of global projects, upload their CVs and will have support from RMJM’s Marketing team in compiling the necessary information to present a bid.

A spokesman for the RMJM Group, one of the world's largest architecture firms, says: "We are more interconnected now than ever and in this moment of need, we must reach out to our neighbours."
