The Myriad Dubai in the heart of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) is set to welcome students in September.

The 68,000m2 community features 1,720 fully furnished rooms, which can accommodate up to 2,200 students.

It also features a designated study lounge area; indoor and outdoor gym; swimming pools, jogging tracks; restaurants; gaming rooms; and an outdoor amphitheatre.

ITP title Construction Week reported how the developer working on the project is Strategic Housing Group, who will operate the housing community post-completion.

The concept was first aired in 2018, when we reported that it would be the e largest purpose-built, professionally managed student housing property in the UAE.

In the light of COVID-19 and its impact on travel, the Myriad Dubai, originally expected to open its doors to students from both the GCC region and beyond, is now set to welcome students staying in the UAE for studies.

Speaking about the community, chief executive officer of Strategic Housing Group, Vikram Rao, says: "We are proud to announce 90 per cent completion on this project that we believe will meet the clear shortage of purpose-built student housing in a consistently expanding higher education market in Dubai, especially during these exceptional times where it is more favourable for students to study within the UAE."
