Bathroom solutions company Ideal Standard has stepped up to the challenge presented by COVID-19.

The company has drawn on decades of working with scientists and specialists to develop products that minimise the risks posed by hospital-acquired infections and prevent the spread of germs.

These are the three new products available for healthcare settings.

Markwik21+:

Mixers from the Markwik 21+ range (pictured above) have hands-free operation preventing the transfer of bacteria and are almost entirely free of polymers.

Instead they contain glass, brass and antimicrobial copper components, which reduce the likelihood of Pseudomonas infection and other growths.

Auto-flush technology ensures electronic fittings that are not used regularly are flushed through with water every 24 hours. This also prevents the formation of bacteria.

Contour21+ basin:

The Contour 21+ clinical basin (pictured above) is designed to minimise splashing, as splashing and spreading of germs can reach up to two meters in distance.

The range also includes SmartGuard antimicrobial additive technology, which uses ionic silver to reduce the threat of cross-contamination.

Contour21+ WCs:

Traditional WC rims provide an ideal habitat for bacteria, but the design of CONTOUR 21+ WCs removes this haven for pathogens.

Ceraplus 2:

Ideal Standard’s new Ceraplus 2 range of mixers are built with spouts that self-drain completely after water is drawn, minimizing the growth of bacteria.
