Navin Valrani
Industry : Construction & Industry
Job Title: CEO

Schooled in the UAE and having worked in the region for twenty years, Navin Valrani has the benefit of extensive regional experience.

Having graduated from the Wharton School of Business and then backing it up with programs at Harvard Business School and London Business School, Navin heads up Al Shirawi FM, which is part of the family conglomerate known as Al Shirawi Group.

Valrani’s philosophy is that UAE-based firms can not only take on international players in the FM marketplace but also come out on top.

As a consequence, Al Shirawi has stayed away from joint ventures and international franchising arrangements when it comes to its facilities management business.
Recent wins include contracts with Al Tayer Retail, Azadea Group, and the American School of Dubai.

Valrani does not intend to stop there. He said: “We are looking at other markets in the region, but Al Shirawi FM will remain focused on its philosophy that the FM marketplace can be served a lot better by local FM firms that have the commitment, capability and culture to serve the regional marketplace.” He also sits on the board of the group and oversees Al Shirawi’s companies in the building services sector.

He is incoming president of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) Emirates Chapter, and is the UAE Secondary School Alumni Committee chairperson for the University of Pennsylvania.
