Ian Harfield is from the United Kingdom, and has more than 20 years of experience managing and delivering services to commercial, research, healthcare, military, education, residential and industrial properties.

In 2007 Harfield moved to the UAE, and worked at ServeU as general manager for a year prior to joining Zabeel Properties as director of facilities management. Harfield joined Cofely Besix Facility Management in 2010.

Prior to that, Harfield completed his BSc Building Management at Oxford Poly in 1991, and started his early career supporting the Royal Navy at the forefront of an industry that has now become widely known as facilities management.

He subsequently joined Jarvis Workspace FM Ltd as operations manager in 1997, pushing the new service boundaries as part of the first education PFI project in the UK to provide services for 25 years. He also worked as a national account manager for Cable and Wireless from 2004 before joining Currie & Brown as a senior consultant in 2006.

Throughout his career Harfield has operated both on the client side and as a contractor in direct service delivery.

With this combined experience he has worked closely with clients to support them in property management, PPP/PFI schemes, structuring facility service solutions, end-user management and utilities supplies, as well as developing and managing service solutions through direct manpower resources.
