Back in 1978, Hussein Ali Hatata joined the Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh as a room attendant and since then, he has remained committed to achieving excellence in the Saudi Arabian hotel industry.

Career highlights include the 1997 opening of the five-star Abha Palace Hotel on behalf of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and the opening of the five-star luxury Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel in 1999. Hatata steadily worked his way up the ranks and immersed himself in training, including stints at Lausanne in Switzerland and Cornell University. In 2005, he assumed his current role and oversees the Al Khozama Management Company facilities in Riyadh.

He has been instrumental in expanding the Al Khozama portfolio into the holy cities in Makkah and Madina by acquiring management of Al Khozama-Al Shohada Hotel in Makkah, and Al Faisaliah and Al Khozama Hotels in Madinah. This year has been particularly good for the company with the opening of Al Khozama Hotel-Madinah in November, as well as the signing of an MoU to open the first hotel in King Abdullah Economic City in Rabeg, Jeddah.

Awards have been plentiful as well with recognition from Saudi Excellence in Tourism, World Travel Awards, Condé Nast Gold List and Kingdom’s Top 100 companies.

Hatata is currently responsible for five operating hotels, with three hotels in the confirmed AKMC pipeline.
