Canadian-born Magdi Samman is using his 37 years’ of hospitality experience to lead the operations and development of Swiss-Belhotel International in the Middle East.
Worldwide the European chain operates 35 hotels comprising 5530 rooms with a workforce of 5000. It first entered the region in 2007 with a hotel in Kuwait, followed by Doha in 2009 and most recently, it debuted in Oman in June 2012 with the Beach Bay by Swiss-Belhotel in Muscat, bringing its Middle East portfolio to three operating hotels.
Today, Samman is determined to double the group’s regional presence with six ambitious hotel projects signed for Muscat, Oman; Riyadh and Sharma in Saudi Arabia; Erbil, Iraq and a property in Seef, Bahrain.
He has worked in the Middle East region for the past 18 years.
