Turkish national Dr Ali Kasapbashi has been in the hotel industry for 27 years and this year has been a successful one among them. He has declared a goal to have a hotel in each of the UAE’s seven emirates by 2014.
The group, which currently only has properties open in Ras Al Khaimah, has hotels under development in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, opening in the third quarter of 2012 and the first quarter of 2013, respectively. In the near-term, the group is looking to attract new markets to the emirates, before expanding the brand into the GCC.
Bin Majid Hotels operates four properties in Ras Al Khaimah and elements of the hotels are currently being upgraded including the opening of a spa in Bin Majid Beach Hotel, new chalets and cabana at Bin Majid Beach Resort and the recent opening of presidential suites at Mangrove Hotel.
Looking forward, Bin Majid Hotels is working on delivering four hotels, two of which will be in Abu Dhabi. Kasapbashi said the group was looking to expand now that the tourism industry is reviving.
Currently, Kasapbashi runs 850 rooms and is planning to reach 1200 by the end of 2013. Beyond that, the target is for a total portfolio of 1500 rooms at the beginning of 2014.
