UAE-based dining, catering and restaurant management firm Tawasy Group is opening its first restaurant, located in Dubai Festival City.
Tawasy Restaurant and Grill will serve Arabic and Mediterranean dishes.
Tawasy Group CEO Rami Wardeh said: “The UAE’s urban population is forecasted to grow to 7.9 million by 2020 at an average annual growth of 2.3% in a decade with city dwellers, who eats out more often than others, accounting for 86.7% of the country’s population.
"With such attractive numbers, opening a restaurant is a next step towards strengthening our position in the UAE’s F&B industry. Moreover, F&B outlets are expected take over a fifth of the mall space in the next 10 years, establishing our presence in the dining segment is a strategic business move.”
The company plans to open 10 more restaurants in the UAE over the next four years, and expand across the GCC via franchising partners.
Established in 2009, Tawasy Group is active in the gourmet catering and home delivery segments with its concepts Mashawi2Go, Manqeesh2Go and Tawasy Express. It is also a HORECA supplier.
