SriLankan Airlines is aiming to strengthen its foothold in Middle East travel market. The airline, which will be present at the Arabian Travel Market, Dubai, already flies daily between the Sri Lankan capital Colombo and all major cities in the GCC.

Pula Gunatilleka, CEO of SriLankan Airlines, said: “The Arabian Travel Market as the pre-eminent travel and trade marketplace and networking event serving the wider Middle East is an important platform for us to showcase our future plans to one of our most significant markets.

“As the airline makes a shift to a more efficient and consumer-focused hub-and-spoke model of operations, the Middle East will play a crucial role as one of our most lucrative source markets.”

SriLankan Airlines today flies a 27-strong all Airbus fleet, which includes the A330-300 and A320neo aircraft connecting to 109 destinations in 48 countries (including codeshare operations).
