Members from both parties came together to highlight the role of Hilton in Dubai’s hospitality industry, as well as current strategies and future plans.
Hilton has had a presence in Dubai for more than 40 years, the international chain currently has 18 hotels in the emirate, with an additional 14 in the development pipeline.
The meeting touched on how Dubai Tourism and Hilton can work to achieve Dubai’s Tourism Vision – working to make it the most visited city as laid out by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Other topics included the various initiatives Dubai Tourism has implemented to help the hospitality industry, including the hosting of Expo 2020 Dubai. The current strength and growth of the emirate’s tourism industry was also noted, as well as how this success can be continued.
In attendance were H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Airports, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, as well as H.E. Helal Saeed Almarri, director general, Dubai Tourism.
Hilton’s president and CEO, Christopher J. Nassetta was also present, along with president for Europe Middle East and Africa, Simon Vincent, and finally president for Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Rudi Jagersbacher.
