Hamburg targets GCC tourists with ‘digital experiences’
Hamburg launches high-tech and digital experiences such as a chocolate museum, escape rooms and a fairy exhibition

Hamburg in Northern Germany has introduced a number of interactive and digital experiences to the Hanseatic city.

Drawing on virtual reality elements, the Discovery Dock focuses on Hamburg’s port as its core theme built with state-of-the-art VR technology, projections, live simulations and sound and light effects.

The ‘Big Break Hamburg’ features an escape room and time travel mystery games taking inspiration from American TV show, Prison Break.

‘Märchenwelten’, soon-to-be-launched in September 2019, is an exhibition themed on a world of Grimm’s Fairy tales. It is based on an interactive, multimedia edutainment concept that provides a combination of traditional elements such as life-size silhouettes and imaginative stage sets.

The chocolate-making museum called the ‘Chocoversum’ that offers a mix of tasting experiences and knowledge transfer.

Finally, the ‘Miniatur Wunderland’ features the world's biggest model railway with more than 265,000 figures and cars and ships that move through the landscapes.
