According to reports in India, Airbnb is looking to double its marketing investments in the country to increase its visibility, Siew Kum Hong, Airbnb's APAC regional director said at the Skift Forum in Singapore.

In a report online, Live Mint revealed that this announcement was made at a time when Singapore (Airbnb’s Asia-Pacific headquarters is based), decided to keep existing restrictions on short-term rentals.

Last month, the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority announced that limits on vacation rentals will remain after an extensive and comprehensive five-year engagement with various stakeholders.

The report suggested that the number of listings on Airbnb went up 150% in the last year and that the company was looking forward to tapping into the millennials in India.
