UAE’s hospitality industry is currently not open to robotics, said Le Meridien Al Aqah’s executive housekeeper Hari Sudhakar at the Hotelier Executive Housekeeping Forum 2019.

While several countries in South East Asia such as China have already welcomed robotics, Sudhakar believes that UAE will get there in a few years.

“Hotel guests who visit this part of the world still want human interaction. One of the positive features that runs the hospitality industry in UAE and the Middle East is the connection we make with our guests. Because of that, the industry currently doesn’t find the need to welcome robotics,” Sudhakar explained.

"While we do use several AI features in the hospitality industry, robots that welcome people or man the front desk will not make an entry anytime soon," he added.
