The St. Regis Abu Dhabihas appointed Joseph Murphy as their executive chef.
Murphy has close to 20 years’ of International experience as a chef in the luxury hospitality industry.
According to the property, Murphy will be responsible for all the culinary areas across the property, including the hotel’s six popular restaurants and bars as well as its banqueting operation. He will also head a team of 70 chefs.
Murphy’s work experience includes the Langham hotel in London, as well as a role at The Sheraton on the Park in Sydney, Australia.
More recently, he has worked in the Middle East in neighbouring Gulf countries, both for St Regis Hotels & Resorts as well as the Marriott brand.
Speaking about hiring Murphy, St Regis Abu Dhabi’s general manager Moustafa Sakr said: “Joseph joins us at a key time. We are now in the sixth year of operation and the hotel is investing in the enhancement of our F&B offering. Culinary Innovation in this area has always been fundamental for our hotel. Chef Joseph’s expertise will be a key component in driving this and we are confident that his expertise will continue to drive the success we have achieved in Abu Dhabi’s competitive hospitality market.”
