Industry-incubator Intalek is calling for UAE nationals to come forth with start-up company ideas in the sectors of aviation, tourism and travel.
Led by Emirates Group and co-founded by GE and Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), Intelak supports, grows and launches start-ups in the aviation, tourism and travel industries.
The incubator’s ‘Idea Lab’ gives nationals access to mentoring from industry-leaders, feedback, and a space to flesh out the prototype and design of start-up projects.
Idea Lab is launching a new competition where nationals come forward with their service or product, showcasing them to members of Emirates Group, GE and Dubai Tourism. Successful business ideas will receive AED 50,000 in seed funding to introduce the plan to the market. Moreover, REHLATY by dnata Travel will offer the winning national(s) a trip for two to Europe.
Successful applicants of the Idea Lab will be announced at a ceremony held at the Emirates Aviation University.
Yousuf Lootah, Executive Director, Tourism Development & Investments, Dubai Tourism, commented: "UAE nationals can play a vital role in developing new travel focused technology to help transform the tourism sector. Dubai Tourism is committed to providing industry support and mentorship to innovative and ambitious Emiratis looking to enhance the traveller experience in Dubai. Offering the right guidance and nurturing from leading industry stakeholders, the Intelak programme opens doors and makes relevant connections to allow entrepreneurs a viable gateway to the aviation, travel and tourism sectors.”
