Dubai’s Emirates Airline has signed an agreement with Deezer, a music streaming service to give passengers access to better playlists.

Sister-publication Arabian Business reports that Deezer has created more than 20 music playlists for Emirates’ ‘ice’ entertainment interface.

The selection of music will include a mixture of international artists Deezer revealed.

Tarek Mounir, CEO – MENA and Turkey, Deezer, said: “It’s great to work closely with Emirates to take our expertly-curated playlists to the skies. Music has the power to transport us and our curated music selection aims to get listeners to feel the thrill of discovery that comes from visiting new destinations and experiences.”

Deezer launched in the Middle East and North Africa in October 2018 and can be found across 22 countries in the region.

Patrick Brannelly, division VP customer experience, Emirates, added: “We welcome playlists by Deezer on ice. Movies and TV are super popular onboard, but a core of our customers love music. Emirates has supported the industry for many years by working with artists and record labels. Now we are pleased to be building relationships with music streaming services.”
