Vakkaru Maldives collaborates with head pastry chef of Harrods London

Vakkaru Maldives will be collaborating with Harrods London’s head pastry chef, Alistair Birt from 22 to 25 October 2019.

Birt will be preparing dishes such as the Chocolate Degustation and Chocolate Ice Creams at Vakkaru Maldives. As an ambassador for Cacao Barry, chocolate producer, Birt will be using the brand’s chocolates.

Experiences at the property will feature the Bean-To-Bar Chocolate Masterclass on 22 October, 2019 which will include a class on conching, a fine chocolate liquor, Cacao Barry’s sustainability programmes and chocolate truffles.

The Cacao Cocktails at Lagoon Bar will be held on 23 October, 2019. Guests will be served cocoa nib-infused whiskey, bitters, sugar and a twist of orange or the White Chocolate Pina Colada.

Held on 24 October 2019, the Chocolate Degustation will feature a dinner and desserts curated by Birt who will prepare dishes such as “The Vakkaru”, a blend of coconut with a Maldivian mango compote centre and Eton Mess

Finally, on 25 October 2019, Alistair’s Chocolate Ice Cream Pop-up Parlour by the Poolside will feature an immersive experience where guests will be able to create their ice cream flavour using a combination of chocolates.
