Emirates Airline is the latest company to join Oman Air and Etihad Airways to ban guests from checking-in 15-inch MacBook Pro models.

Airlines started banning the MacBook Pro after Apple announced a recall of a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro models because batteries had a chance of overheating and could pose a fire safety risk. Officials said that the affected models were sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017.

“Therefore, as a safety precaution, travellers will not be permitted to carry these MacBook Pro models as checked or carry-on baggage on Emirates flights unless the battery has been replaced,” Emirates said in a statement on their website.
