Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, health and safety measures must be in place, including sanitisation and temperature checks. With event calendars being blank for a while now, in favour of the safer online route, both indoor and outdoor events will return to the event, with social distancing enforced.
At seated events there must be a minimum of two metres social distancing. There must be a chequerboard seating pattern – including in VIP suites – with two seats to be kept vacant between each group of people, or individuals if not in the same group.Online ticket purchasing is encouraged and there should be a staggered time system for access, while staff and ushers must wear masks at all times. The venue should be left by row numbers via marked walkways.
Venues must be sanitised every 30 minutes for events of more than 25 people, and every hour for events under 25 people, as well as at the end of each day and at the end of the event. The directive should give Dubai’s tourism a boost, with income from MICE events, weddings and award ceremonies set to return.
