In an effort to support businesses through the current economic climate, Abu Dhabi has announced a number of initiatives.
Reported by sister publication Arabian Business, the initiatives are directed by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Throughout 2020, a 20% rebate on rentals for the restaurant, tourism and entertainment sectors will be given, along with the suspension of tourism and municipality fees for tourism and entertainment sectors. Other initiatives include no annual registration fees for commercial vehicles, no toll gate tariffs for all vehicles and no real estate registration fees.
Earlier this week in Dubai, the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing instructed all bars, pubs and lounges to close with immediate effect until the end of March in an effort to control the spread of coronavirus.According to the World Health Organisation, the UAE is close to 100 cases of COVID-19, currently confirming 98 cases.
