With many people in self-imposed lockdown due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis, a Dubai-based chef has launched an online home cooking series showcasing healthy dishes.
Peruvian chef and F&B consultant Roberto Segura, formerly the head chef of Waka, will be creating a couple of dishes each week on Instagram and YouTube.
He told Caterer Middle East that “the idea is to create and make easy and simple dishes that people can easily follow at home using products you can find in any supermarket so there is no complication in sourcing them”.
Segura has recently turned vegetarian and the series will feature a number of plant-based recipes from Latin America as well as classic fish dishes such as Peruvian ceviche.
The cook along videos will be available on Segura’s YouTube channel CookingWithRoberto and his IGTV @chef_robertosegura.
To make the best of the current situation, Segura said people should “keep calm, relax, and enjoy the pleasure of being able to cook at home. It’s so easy, healthy, and cheaper to do, so while you are enjoying my cooking videos and practicing your capabilities you are also getting a healthier lifestyle and saving money”.
