The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has suspended all domestic flights, buses, taxis and trains for a period of two weeks.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, citing a source in the Ministry of Interior, the decision was made following directives from health authorities in the Kingdom.
"Only flights related to humanitarian cases, medical evacuation aircraft and private aviation would be provided the necessary permits issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA)," the source said. Likewise, only buses belonging to health facilities or the government may operate.
“Suspending taxis operating for 14 days, with the exception of the service provided in airports for air transport, as estimated by GACA and the activity of transporting individuals is limited to special vehicles working with applications,” the source added.According to the World Health Organisation, Saudi Arabia currently has 274 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
