Abu Dhabi Airports has appointed Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi as acting CEO, tasked with leading Abu Dhabi Airports and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s presence in the aviation sector. With a vast background in technology, his leadership will help Abu Dhabi Airports develop its technological services.
Al Hashmi brings more than 20 years of professional experience to the role, having worked across aerospace engineering, aircraft project management, technology development and implementation, defence and security.
In his previous role as the chief defence strategic programs officer, and chief information security officer of the Tawazun Economic Council, Al Hashmi oversaw a wide range of programmes and initiatives within the UAE’s defence and aerospace industries.
Al Hashmi has also held a number of roles across The Supreme Council for National Security, Outlook Energy Investment, Presidential Flight, and Royal Jet.
