The Maldives’ Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts has announced it will be allocating one of its properties for government use to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

Its recently-opened Varu by Atmosphere, its fifth resort, will be used to station government teams and increase nationwide efforts against the spread of the virus. It will be temporarily used by the country’s Ministry of Tourism for however it deems fit in the evolving situation.

All guests previously booked into the property will be moved into another resort in the group’s portfolio.

Elsewhere in the world, Best Western Great Britain has pledged 15,000 beds for NHS use and government use. Millennium Hotels & Resorts has also promised it will provide all of its services and facilities to the UAE government if asked.
