Sheikh Hamdan welcoming all delegates to the UAE.

More than 100 top drawer companies are currently exhibiting their cutting-edge technologies and solutions at GOTECH 2019. This initiative, which has grown tremendously since 2017, is designed to tangibly support the oil and gas industry and enhance matters of mutual benefit and is seen as a powerful platform where the leading players in the oil and gas industry can meet and share their views on moving ahead and addressing issues of common interest.

His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment for the United Arab Emirates, was the keynote speaker at the Ministerial Talks. His talk focused on global energy transformation to achieve sustainable growth and ensure availability of energy resources at competitive prices.

“Environmental protection and sustainability cannot be a mere trend and here in the UAE we are committed to strengthening the conversation on this front. We have invested heavily in renewable energy and broken the world record for solar power and we see the major strides being taken in the oil and gas sector,” said His Excellency.

Stalwarts of the industry were also felicitated for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the oil and gas industry, including Nizar Al Adsani, former deputy chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Darcy Spady, 2018 SPE President, Sami Alnuaim, 2019 SPE President and Faisal Al Mahroos, former CEO of BAPCO.

“From Day 1 we said that we wanted to be different, disruptive and innovative as well as add value to all participants. As ambassadors for change and transformation, our honorable guests and keynote speaker truly exemplify the foresight and vision that the global energy industry needs so we are proud to have them grace GOTECH 2019 with their presence,” said Dragon Oil CEO, Mr. Ali Rashed Al Jarwan.

“150 high caliber and interactive technical papers, a high-level technical conference organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a highly anticipated open plenary session, strong partners including industry giants such as ENOC, Schlumberger, Weatherford and OilServ, not to mention a delegate list that continues to grow. These developments are encouraging and a clear testament to the growing strength and acceptance of the relevance of GOTECH in the sector globally,” added Jarwan.

The official environmental adviser to the Ajman government and royal family member, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al Nuaimi, also attended Day 1 of GOTECH 2019.

“Our leadership has a clear vision too and it revolves around arming industry professionals with the knowledge and skills so that they can play a major role in bringing about change. With a high-level agenda that focuses on research, innovation and technology, GOTECH 2019 is an ideal platform for this expertise to be harnessed and showcased,” said Fareed AlHashmi.
