Borouge’s innovative activities in supply chain and strategic partnerships with industry value chain and key logistics services providers were highlighted at the 10th Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) Supply Chain Conference held in Dubai during 8-10 May 2018.
With its theme focusing on ‘Collaboration for Growth: A Cultural Transformation’, the event offered a prominent platform for Borouge to demonstrate its improved supply chain activities and network with local and regional supply chain professionals to ensure better cooperation among key players.
“Collaboration in supply chain activities across the value chain plays a significant role in ensuring business continuity and driving growth of the industry,” said Ahmed Al Katheeri, acting senior vice president, supply chain management, Borouge.
“Collaboration, supported by harnessing advanced technologies and innovations, contributes to making supply chain operations more reliable, credible and effective in its transformational stage to cope with the changing global marketplace.”
Dr Antonie Potgieter, vice president, centre of excellence, Borouge, highlighted the importance of establishing partnerships with the industry value chain to facilitate and improve supply chain operations to ensure better results in products delivery. In his presentation at the conference, he introduced the Borouge Centre of Excellence and the role it plays in developing a culture of innovation in supply chain business across the organisation.
“The efficient business environment, competitive landscape and fast paced technological advances are making huge demands on the supply chain community, especially in multinational companies. In Borouge, the rapid expansion of capacity and length of its supply chains are furthermore adding complexity to the challenge,” Dr Potgieter said.
Borouge’s Centre of Excellence was established to ensure the right focus is placed on developing and implementing a supply chain strategy to support the company’s business ambitions. Working closely with all key stakeholders is a key success factor to develop and successfully implement innovative solutions, covering network design, contracting approach, business process and systems design, packaging and environmental solutions to name but a few.
“Underscoring all of this is a non-negotiable focus on developing our human talent to be fit for the challenges of today and tomorrow,” Dr Potgieter commented.
As the gold sponsor of the 10th GPCA Supply Chain Conference, Borouge continues to support all kinds of collaboration in the supply chain activities and to contribute to its journey of growth.
