Scientists who have made significant contributions in the field of application-oriented catalysis research can be nominated for the Otto Roelen Medal 2020. Submission of proposals for the prize that is endowed with 5,000 Euro is open until 23 September 2019.

In 2020, the Otto Roelen Medal will be awarded for the 13th time. DECHEMA and the German Catalysis Society (GeCatS) has invited researchers and scientists to propose international candidates with outstanding scientific achievements in catalysis research.

The Otto Roelen Medal is sponsored by the Oxea Group. Nominations will be evaluated by the Expert Committee of the Otto Roelen Medal. The prize will be awarded in a public ceremony at the Annual Meeting of German Catalysis Researchers in March 2020 in Weimar/Germany.

The Otto Roelen Medal was initiated in 1997 by Hoechst and is named after the discoverer of hydroformulation.

Former award-winners include Prof. Dr. Matthias Beller, Institut für Organische Katalyseforschung (1997); Prof. Dr. Javier Pérez-Ramírez, ETH Zürich/CH (2012); Prof. Dr. Harald Gröger, University of Bielefeld (2014); Prof. Dr. Peter Strasser, TU Berlin (2016); and Prof. Charlotte Williams, University of Oxford (2018).
