Under the patronage and presence of Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, governor of the Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia, and as a part of Sipchem's efforts to enhance its role in the community, the acting CEO Abdullah Al Saadoon signed an agreement with Saudi Food Bank (Etaam) to reflect the company’s strategy in adopting sustainable strategic projects.

Sipchem, through this agreement, aims at supporting the food provision activities and persevering food through two projects – the first is that Sipchem shall sponsor the food transportation and distribution and the second is to sponsor the development process on a specialised software application that helps the processes of receiving donations in addition to developing Etaam’s website.

Sipchem’s acting CEO, Abdullah Al Saadoon, said: "Sipchem is keen to support Etaam’s activities as it believes in the importance of reducing the food waste as this behaviour is notably increasing in the Gulf area compared with the developed countries as revealed by some studies."

Al Saadoon added: "Sipchem, through its strategy to support CSR activities, is keen to sponsor the sustainable projects, particularly the company allocated 1% of our annual profits as a budget for corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects to enhance the kingdom’s efforts to support such programmes as part of its vision 2030.
