The terminals of BPGIC have been designed for long-term use by using materials that have longer expected life spans than comparable materials utilised by other oil storage terminals. The storage tanks are designed to permit conversions from storing one clean petroleum product to another at an average speed of 48 hours from storing fuel oil to gas oil at an average speed of 14 days. The company can perform up to 11 simultaneous operations, including tank-to-tank transfers, recirculations, blending, heating, loading and discharging, permitting it to service multiple user orders during the same time periods.“BPGIC’s Fujairah terminal began operations in 2018 and boasts some of the most technologically advanced bulk liquid storage facilities in the world. The superior facility design generates direct cost savings for customers by reducing typical oil loss ratios by over 80%. The terminal is capable of handling eleven simultaneous operations, including tank-to-tank transfers, recirculation, blending, heating, loading and discharging, permitting BPGIC to service multiple customer orders during the same time period,” said Nicolaas Paardenkooper, CEO, BPGIC.
“In addition, the facility is strategically located in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, and has close proximity to the berths in the Port of Fujairah. The shorter travel distances required for oil product transfers reduce contamination risks, quick line pigging, and leads to faster vessel turnaround times.”
