Today, the key discussion point in the energy industry around the world is on the role that digital transformation can play as an enabler for the industry in the transition to smart operations. With rapid advances in industrial value available by use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and multivariate analytics, further enabled by advances in computing speed and mobility, energy companies can begin to address previously unsolvable issues, without turning themselves into technology experts.

Enova’s Hubgrade 4.0 has resulted in major savings over the last few years, over 20% in some facilities, and has become a reference for all clients of the company. The solution currently has over 100 million square metres of complex buildings entrusted through the connection of over 15,000 live data points. This results in $10.35 million of guaranteed savings for 2019.

In 2018, the company saved its customers 23.8 million kilowatt hour of electricity and 287,000 cubic metre of water. While the digital solution’s core concept stayed the same over the past years, innovation and creativity have accompanied its evolution into what it is today and will continue to shape its range of services and capabilities in the future.

“It is with immense pleasure that Enova receives this award, a testament to the success of our ongoing efforts towards digitalisation of the energy and facilities management industry. Starting in 2014 with the creation of an Energy Saving Center, which was later re-branded as Hubgrade, a global hypervision platform collecting, analysing and reporting data, Enova’s continuous drive for innovation led to integrating this platform with our CAFM (computer aided facilities management) tool, enabling a seamless operational performance,” said Francisco Ramalheira, director – business development and marketing, Enova.

“In early 2019, Hubgrade 4.0 was relaunched with additional functionality, allowing full transparency and traceability, making it an indispensable tool for our energy performance offer.”

The ‘highly commended’ nomination in this category is for the MindSphere Application Center in Abu Dhabi by Siemens.
