Nadia had been later transferred to projects department and elevated to lead the process engineering design effort for the largest and most complex projects of the existing refineries’ expansion and the new refinery project in Kuwait. She was then promoted as technical service manager in Shu refinery, and later handled Mina Abdullah refinery technical services department as manager.She was then selected to lead the corporate planning group in the new company KIPIC and was responsible for the key role in leading the company’s establishment as a new oil sector company. Nadia was then promoted to deputy CEO in 2018, responsible for the petrochemical and LNG functions of KIPIC, in addition to the corporate planning role. She now works as deputy CEO in Petrochemical Industries Company, heading the company’s business development, business monitoring, and projects functions.
“We have a tradition in the country to support women in all sectors; we are very lucky that the atmosphere allows for equal treatment and allows women to establish and perform to the best of their abilities, side to side and shoulder to shoulder with their male colleagues,” said Nadia.
The ‘highly commended’ nomination in this category is for Alyazia Ali Al Kuwaiti, executive director, Mubadala Investment Company.
