Almajdouie GEFCO Logistics won Bespoke Logistics Project of the Year at the Logistics Middle East Awards, for its establishment of the first integrated Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) Company in Saudi Arabia.
The initiative re-shaped the nature of automotive logistics in the country, giving importers access to the only company that handles the entire supply chain, enabling cost effective solutions that result in shorter lead times and increased operational efficiency.
“We brought our experience in bespoke logistics projects into the automotive sector, it was actually our first outsourced service in the automotive sector and it proved a huge success,” said Stefano Pollotti, managing director, GEFCO.
Almajdouie GEFCO Logistics is a joint venture between Almajdouie Logistics and GEFCO Group to provide finished vehicle logistics services in the Kingdom.
“The unique partnership between GEFCO and Almajdouie, bringing our strengths together is the key to the success of the operation,” said Pollotti.
The Logistics Middle East Awards, hosted by the magazine Logistics Middle East and its online platform LogisticsMiddleEast.com, are an annual event that celebrate excellence in the supply chain, with categories that are intended to reflect the specialisation by vertical of various logistics and supply chain stakeholders.
Nominations for next year’s event will open in August, 2019.
