Markus Koepsel, general manager of RSA-TALKE, was named Logistics Executive of the Year at the Logistics Middle East Awards 2019.
Koepsel manages a team of more than 100 employees across five logistics hubs in the region, handling in excess of 500,000 tons of product annually and has secured contracts with some of the biggest names in chemical logistics, from DOW and Sadara to Arkema.
But not only that, he has also streamlined the supply chains of each, reducing costs, carbon footprint and shortening time to market.
“Markus is very young and energetic, but also very level-headed, and he’s extremely good at motivating his people to achieve the levels of service excellence that the market demands,” said Mark Appleyard, HSSEQ manager and business advisor, RSA-TALKE, collecting the award on his behalf.
“This is very important in a sector like chemical logistics where you’re dealing with the storage of dangerous goods and need to be at the top of your game 24/7,” he said.
The Logistics Middle East Awards, hosted by the magazine Logistics Middle East and its online platform LogisticsMiddleEast.com, are an annual event that celebrate excellence in the supply chain, with categories that are intended to reflect the specialisation by vertical of various logistics and supply chain stakeholders.
Nominations for next year’s event will open in August, 2019.
