Cost reduction and risk management are the primary objectives of every fleet management company. To reduce costs, improve supply-chain visibility, maintain efficiency and safety standards, and provide compliance with government regulations, enterprises are looking to telematics technology.

“Fleet Management Software is an administrative approach that allows the enterprises to organize and coordinate their fleet operations,” says Ravindranath. “It is an end-to-end service that provides fleet managers a deep understanding of the state and use of their fleet in real time and further helps to prevent vehicle failures and repairs.”

This improves efficiency, which is a key concern for the industry as a whole, but in particular e-commerce operators in the last mile, and the cold chain, says Ravindranath.

“Proper fleet management reinforces customer satisfaction because dropped deliveries are reduced, time to delivery is reduced and as a result customer satisfaction is improved,” she explains. “And in the cold chain, proper temperature management is of course essential, and IoT can ensure it’s maintained.”
