A series of events that will review and shape the future of transportation in the GCC have been announced today.

The PTV Mobility Days will take place in Dubai, Riyadh and the Gulf throughout October and will feature transport thought industry leaders from the government as well as pioneers from the private sector.

Organised by PTV Group, the events have key topics on the agenda ranging from traffic issues in areas of rapid population growth to the way new modes of transport such as hyperloop and shared mobility can be incorporated into existing transport networks.

PTV Middle East, India and Africa managing director, Andrea Petti, said: “We are at an inflection point, as new modes of transport are progressively emerging across the GCC to match increasing demand for accessible, personalized and deterministic transport by the citizens and improve the liveability of cities.”

“In addition to that, agencies need to promote adoption of mass transit systems that are becoming operational in order to shift ridership from private to public transport and ease roads congestion.

“At these events we will debate how to address increasing demand for urban mobility with existing limited transport infrastructure with the contribution from key people and organisations,” he added.

The Mobility Days begin in Dubai, at The W Hotel The Palm, on October 14 with next generation transport methods, such as hyperloop, high on the agenda.

Following further discussions in GCC countries, the event then moves to Saudi Arabia with a full day in Riyadh on October 21 and central to that will be the latest update from the Ministry of Transport.
