The Department of Economic Development - Ajman (DED-Ajman) has successfully completed its Unified Automation Platform initiative, which has automated all administration and customer services.

The service automation project has intended to increase the efficiency of transactions and upgrade the quality of services.

The DED now intends to launch a further 50 eServices this year, to continue with the digital transformation. Twelve services have been launched so far, and the department plans to launch the rest of the services in batches of 12 over the next few months.

The unified automation platform and the e-services have been launched as part of Ajman's Digital Transformation Plan 2017 - 2022, a program launched with an aim to help provide people with innovative and smart digital services that are both fully automated and financially efficient.

Yaqoub Yousuf Rasheed, Director, IT Department, DED-Ajman said that the Unified Automation Platform reflects the future vision of developing strategic guidelines to enable the department to provide smart digital services that meet the needs of investors, government and private sectors and the community. He pointed out that the project has contributed to transforming the traditional administrative and customer services into a more digital approach, thus creating a solid foundation for harnessing ICT systems to provide innovative services that are in line with the department's commitment to support the efforts of UAE government and the emirate of Ajman towards digital transformation.

"The initiative has been highly valued as one of the largest projects under the umbrella of the IT Department, which aim to develop innovative electronic and smart services. We prepared a detailed study to ensure the achievement of the objectives at the level of the department's structural frameworks, including the business processes, IT systems and technical infrastructure while also meeting the requirements of smart transformation and streamlining the government procedures that would enhance the attractiveness of the local investment environment," said Rasheed.

"The successful implementation of the Unified Automation Platform project is an important addition to our efforts to use advanced technology in promoting the business environment in Ajman. The development of digital infrastructure and smart and innovative services that support the efforts to facilitate business transactions is one of the strategic priorities to build a sustainable competitive economic environment in line with Ajman Vision 2021."
