Cerner Middle East & Africa has presented its annual Achievement and Innovation Awards to honour healthcare technology projects in the Middle East.
The company presented awards to customers across five categories: Consumer Experience, Support Services, Population Health Management, Clinical Decision Support and User Experience.
The awards, now in their seventh year, are run as part of the Cerner Middle East Collaboration Forum, held in Dubai. The top three finalists in each category presented their projects, and the audience then voted for the winner. More than 300 senior health care representatives from various organizations, hospitals and ministries attended this year.
"This year's finalists feature truly inspirational and innovative stories of how our Middle East client organizations have worked diligently with their leadership, care teams and IT staff to help elevate the health care experience for the communities in their respective countries," said Michael Pomerance, vice president and managing director, Cerner Middle East & Africa. "The 2018 Achievement and Innovation Awards received more than 40 entries from four countries in less than two months. We look forward to continuing the journey of advancing health care together with our visionary client leadership."
The winning projects included King Saud University Medical City for a workflow solution for clinical decision support; King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre for its ‘Transforming Patient Experience through Smart Tech' customer experience project; Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt (57357) for their streamlined procedure room workflow; Abu Dhabi Health Services Company for the use of electronic health record (EHR) for school children; and the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention (MOHAP) for the performance & clinical experience (PaCE) project, which monitors and evaluates the quality of healthcare delivery.
