e-commerce site noon is offering refurbished mobile phones at up to 60% off their recommended retail price.

Noon says it is selling items that have been returned by customers. Products are cleaned, minor faults repaired and repackaged, before being offered for resale.

The company said this has typically meant savings up to 60%, with items offered such as Samsung Galaxy S8 dual SIM 64GB for 799dhs instead of 2,190dhs and iPhone 7 with FaceTime 32GB for 1,249dhs instead of 3,250dhs.

An external team technical experts conducts the refurbishment, including fixing any damage, replacing parts, rebooting the software, and testing, before quality checking is carried out by an inhouse quality control team.

The refurbished products are all ‘noon now', which means they are shipped within 24-hours, and come with a three-month warranty.

Noon says that refurbishment is a good means to reduce electronic waste.

The company is offering refurbished mobile phones in the UAE, but plans to expand into other product lines, and to start offering them in Saudi Arabia as well.
