Omantel has launched a new digital payment solution which will allow its users to make payments with their mobile phones.
The ‘eFloos' digital wallet, which was developed in collaboration with Sohar International and Arab Financial Services lets users pay merchants, and send funds between wallets.
As the wallet issuer, Sohar International will serve as a gateway for all eFloos transactions.
The service was launched in Muscat, Muscatdaily.com reports.
HH Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad al Said, Assistant Secretary-General for the office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, attended the launch.
H H Sayyid Kamil commented on the launch: "The new partnership between telecom and financial sectors has delivered an innovative e-service that will add much value to our lifestyle and takes us further steps ahead toward seamless transactions."
